Anderson Cooper's Take On The Marvel Cinematic Universe

'Avengers Endgame' Cast Sings Billy Joel's 'We Didn't Start the Fire'

Let’s rewind to 2008, when the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) burst onto the scene with Robert Downey Jr. in the lead role of Iron Man. It was a game-changer, folks. Over the years, the MCU has rolled out an impressive 22 films, wrapping up this chapter, known as "Phase Three," with the release of Avengers: Endgame on April 26. This movie picks up right where last year's Avengers: Infinity War left off. Remember that gut-wrenching moment when Thanos (Josh Brolin) snapped his fingers and wiped out half the universe? Well, the surviving Avengers are pulling out all the stops to bring him down and restore balance. Clocking in at over three hours, this film is shaping up to be the most unforgettable superhero adventure of all time.

And let’s be real, who isn’t hyped about this?

In the video above, brought to you by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the cast gives a fun musical twist to Billy Joel's "We Didn’t Start the Fire." Last year, Jimmy had the cast belt out their own version of the Brady Bunch theme song, which was a blast. It just goes to show how much fun the cast has together, even off-screen.

For those keeping track, here’s a breakdown of the films that make up the different phases:

    Phase One

This is where it all started. Phase One kicked off with Iron Man in 2008, followed by The Incredible Hulk later that same year. Then we got Iron Man 2 in 2010, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011, and finally, Marvel’s The Avengers in 2012. These films laid the foundation for everything that came after.

    Phase Two

Phase Two kept the momentum going with Iron Man 3 in 2013, Thor: The Dark World in the same year, Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014, and Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014. The phase wrapped up with Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015 and Ant-Man later that year. These films deepened the lore and introduced new characters that fans have come to love.

    Phase Three

Phase Three brought us Captain America: Civil War in 2016, Doctor Strange in the same year, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 2017, Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, and Black Panther in 2018. The phase continued with Avengers: Infinity War in 2018, Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018, Captain Marvel in 2019, Avengers: Endgame in 2019, and Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019. This phase brought the story to a climactic conclusion, but as Marvel producer Kevin Feige has hinted, the real end might not come until Spider-Man: Far From Home this summer.

So, while Avengers: Endgame is set to wrap up this saga, we’re all curious to see how the storylines will resolve in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Character arcs and story resolutions are reportedly a big focus of this film. We’ll just have to wait and see when it hits theaters on April 26.
