Donny Osmond Connects With His Son Donald Jr. While Tackling Yard Work
Let me tell you, folks, there’s something truly special about those one-on-one moments between a dad and his kids. For Donny Osmond, the legendary entertainer and proud father of five adult sons, these times are priceless. Recently, he took to Instagram to share a heartfelt moment with his eldest son, Donald Osmond Jr., during a backyard project that brought them closer together.
Donny, who’s been dazzling audiences for decades alongside his sister Marie, posted a picture showing him and his 40-year-old son working side by side in their yard. In the caption, Donny wrote, “I love these @worxtools #Landroids so much, I had to get another one!” But here’s the kicker—this time, he wasn’t alone. “I was able to get some installation help from my oldest son, Don, who happened to be visiting from the great city of Austin, Texas.”

This time I was able to get some installation help from my oldest son, Don, who happened to be visiting from the great city of Austin, TX. One-on-one time with my children is rare these days, so working on this project with Don was a gift. I live for these moments. #familytime

Now, here’s the kicker: Donny went on to express how rare these moments are these days. “One-on-one time with my children is rare these days,” he wrote, adding, “so working on this project with Don was a gift. #familytime.” You can feel the love and gratitude in every word. In the photo, both Donny and Don are all smiles, showing just how much they enjoyed the experience. They were down on their hands and knees in the bright green grass, getting their hands dirty while beautifying their surroundings.
Donny’s Passion for Family and Home
Donny’s backyard isn’t just a place for relaxation—it’s a hub for family gatherings. This is where he hosted his youngest son Josh’s intimate wedding earlier in June. With social distancing rules in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, the celebration was kept small and meaningful. Josh tied the knot with his bride, Summer Felsted, making it a truly special day for the Osmond family.
Donny’s passion for maintaining his home and yard doesn’t come as a surprise. After all, this is the place where so many cherished memories are made. From his son Chris’ gender reveal party, where pink confetti cannons signaled the arrival of a baby girl, to countless other family events, Donny’s home is a testament to his commitment to family life. He captioned the video from Chris’ gender reveal, “The Donny and Debbie family is growing! After one sweet granddaughter and nine wonderful grandsons, the exciting day for the gender of grandbaby is finally revealed.”
“Congratulations to our sweet kids. Chris and Alta. We love all three of you. Debbie and I are so happy. #FamilyIsForever,” he added. It’s clear that Donny cherishes these moments and loves nothing more than celebrating his children’s milestones.

Family Time: The Ultimate Gift
Donny’s recent posts are a beautiful reminder of the importance of family and the joy that comes from spending quality time together. In a world where life moves at lightning speed, taking the time to bond with loved ones is more important than ever. Whether it’s installing yard tools with your son or celebrating a new grandchild, these moments are the ones that truly matter. Donny’s ability to find joy in the little things is something we can all learn from.

Donny’s son Josh shared with Closer Weekly that their wedding was originally supposed to take place at a temple, but due to cancellations, they opted for a smaller, more intimate ceremony. “The Temple and our venue were canceled, so we had a small ceremony instead,” Josh said. Despite the limited guest list, Josh and Summer couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day. “Having only our immediate family in attendance made the whole day more personal and special,” he added. “The wedding turned out more beautiful than we could have even imagined. It was such a fun celebration of this new step we’re taking in life.”
