It’s no secret that Netflix's 'The Crown' dives into some pretty steamy and dramatic moments in royal history—scenes that might even make our own moms blush. But can you imagine what it would be like if your mom were Queen Elizabeth II herself? Well, apparently, Her Majesty doesn’t just sit on the sidelines when it comes to this captivating series. She's actually made it a weekly tradition to watch 'The Crown' with her family! However, one particular scene didn’t sit well with the 92-year-old British monarch.
According to a report from The Express, Queen Elizabeth was "particularly annoyed" by an episode in Season 2 where Prince Philip was depicted as having no sympathy for his son, Prince Charles, when Charles was bullied at Gordonstoun School. The source revealed, "Philip has no sympathy for a plainly upset Charles while flying him home from Scotland. That simply did not happen." It seems the Queen was upset by how Prince Philip was portrayed as an insensitive father to his son.

Accepting the Dramatization: Queen Elizabeth's Understanding
Despite her concerns, the Queen reportedly understands that there’s not much she can do to change how 'The Crown' portrays her and her family. As the insider added, "The Queen realizes that many who watch 'The Crown' take it as an accurate portrayal of the Royal Family, and she cannot change that perception." The show delves into intimate topics, such as Elizabeth's relationship with Philip and Princess Margaret's affair, but it seems the Queen has embraced the drama, even if she'd tweak some scenes.
Happily, she really liked the show, though she found some events to be too heavily dramatized," the source explained. It seems that 'The Crown' has taken the royal family by storm, as earlier this year, Princess Eugenie admitted at a party that she was utterly obsessed with the series. "The music is wonderful; the story is beautiful, and you feel very proud to watch it," she gushed.

Other Royal Family Members Join the Fandom
Queen Elizabeth isn’t the only royal family member who loves 'The Crown.' "Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, love 'The Crown,'" a senior royal source told The Sunday Express. "It has been a longstanding arrangement that they drive to Windsor Castle on the weekend to join the Queen for an informal supper while watching TV or a film. They have a Netflix account and urged her to watch it with them." Even the Queen's granddaughter, Zara Phillips, and her husband, Mike Tindall, admitted they're "addicted" to the show. "She’s brilliant, the one who plays the Queen," said Mike of actress Claire Foy. "I think it's a great show in terms of how they delivered it." However, Claire Foy and Matt Smith, who played Philip, won't be part of Season 3 due to a time jump, so Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies will take over their roles. Let’s hope that doesn’t upset the Queen!
