Let’s talk royals for a moment. You know them: the ones who glide through life with grace, charm, and titles that could fill a library. But behind all the formality, they’re just like us—except they’ve got some seriously cute nicknames for each other. Take Princess Charlotte, for example, who calls her great-grandma Queen Elizabeth “Gan-Gan.” Prince William refers to Kate Middleton as “poppet,” and let’s not forget Prince Harry, whose real name is Henry but goes by Harry every single day.
Now, here’s where things get even more adorable. Like her mom, Charlotte has also been called “poppet” before. But during a royal visit to Northern Ireland on February 27, a Belfast-based blogger named Laura-Ann attended an event at Windsor Park Stadium and spilled the beans on the sweet moniker that the Duchess of Cambridge uses for her 3-year-old daughter. Drumroll, please… she calls her Lottie!

Kate Reveals Charlotte's Sweet Nickname
The story unfolds when the Irish blogger, Laura-Ann, and her 2-year-old son, George, went to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. To her delight, Laura-Ann had a brief chat with Kate, who ended up sharing the adorable nickname she uses for her little princess. Laura-Ann later shared the heartwarming moment on Instagram through a series of videos, giving fans a glimpse into the royal family’s private lives.
“Hello, what’s your name?” Kate can be heard asking in the video. “Hi George, what a cool name you’ve got, and you look very smart in your bow tie. It’s very nice to meet you.” After a brief pause, the video cuts out, but Laura-Ann filled in the blanks. She explained that Kate asked how old her son was before revealing the special name she uses for Charlotte. “I said he’s 4, and she said, ‘Oh, he’s the same age as Lottie’—she calls her Lottie!” Laura-Ann exclaimed to the camera, clearly thrilled by the encounter.

Kate and William's Soccer Skills
After the delightful encounter, Kate and William continued their visit to Windsor Park Stadium in Belfast. They suited up and played soccer with some local school kids. The proud parents of three were all smiles as they kicked the ball around on the grass, showing just how much fun they can have when they step away from their royal duties.
However, it seems that Kate’s soccer skills might need a bit of work. According to The Telegraph, Prince George allegedly told his mom that her game wasn’t cutting it. “Mummy, you’re so rubbish,” Kate reportedly said the 5-year-old told her. “I should have picked up some tips from George,” she added with a laugh. Even if Kate isn’t the best at soccer, let’s face it—she’s a rockstar mom, and that’s all that matters!
