It’s been a journey for Reba McEntire since her divorce from Narvel Blackstock in 2015, but life has a funny way of surprising us when we least expect it. At 64, Reba wasn’t looking for love—she wasn’t even interested. But as they say, love has its own timeline, and for Reba, that timeline took a turn during an unforgettable trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in August 2017. It was there that she met Anthony "Skeeter" Lasuzzo, a widower and wildlife photographer with a passion for nature. And guess what? Sparks flew. Big time.
Reba tells People magazine that her mindset after the divorce was far from romantic. “I was not looking,” she says candidly. “Not even interested.” But sometimes, the universe has other plans. During her vacation, Skeeter helped her find the best spots for wildlife sightings, and before she knew it, their connection went beyond just sharing tips on where to spot elk or bears. Skeeter, a 70-year-old with a heart full of warmth, became someone special in her life. And the rest? Well, that’s a romantic story waiting to unfold.
A Romantic Encounter in the Wild

“We just had the best time,” Reba recalls with a smile. “And so two nights later, we all went out to dinner, and he bought my dinner. How could I say no to that?” Skeeter didn’t waste any time making an impression, and two months after Reba returned home from her trip, he asked her out on a date. “I was there almost a week, and we spent every day together,” she shares. “It was magical.”

Love Grows Gradually
While Reba admits that their relationship became serious gradually, she now knows that they are head over heels for each other. “We’re totally in love—absolutely,” she gushes. “I wouldn’t put up with somebody for two years if I wasn’t in love with them!” she adds with a laugh. “The old heart’s still beating.”
Today, the couple makes it a point to spend plenty of time together, whether it’s at their respective homes or exploring new places. Reba has a single biological child, a 29-year-old son named Shelby, with Blackstock, who also has three other kids. Skeeter, on the other hand, has four children he shared with his late wife, Marolyn, who passed away in 2013 after a seven-year battle with breast cancer.
