Drew Barrymore Likes Hanging Out With Daughter Olive, 6, at Work

There's nothing quite like following in your parent's footsteps, and Drew Barrymore is proving that with her daughter, Olive Kopelman. The beloved actress and mother-of-two recently gave us a peek into her world by sharing a sweet moment from her Instagram. The picture shows Olive, now 6, walking behind her in the hallway of the set of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where Drew was about to shoot a scene for her film The Stand-In. It's moments like these that remind us of the simple joys of family and work blending together.

In her heartfelt caption, Drew, 44, shared her thoughts on the precious moment. “Me at work in the halls of @JimmyFallon with my Olive. I’m about to go on stage for my film The Stand-In in character and shoot a scene for the film,” she wrote. “I look at this moment and think she is getting so big. And I just like that she likes to hang with her mom. I love to have her at my job and I love that she likes being there. Proud mom.” Drew also took the opportunity to thank Jimmy Fallon and his wife, Nancy Juvonen, who is Olive's godmother. It's clear that family and work are intertwined for Drew, and she cherishes every moment of it.

Could Olive and Frankie Follow in Drew’s Footsteps?

While Drew has always been vocal about not wanting her daughters, Olive and 4-year-old Frankie Kopelman, to follow in her footsteps as child actresses, she seems to be softening her stance. In a past interview with People, Drew made it clear that she wouldn't encourage her kids to enter the world of child acting. “I’m not going to let them be kid actors,” she said firmly. “That’s so not their journey.” But Drew isn’t ruling out the possibility entirely. If Olive and Frankie choose to become actresses when they’re older, Drew would be nothing but supportive.

“If they want to be actors [later] in life, I would be so supportive of it,” Drew admitted with a laugh, adding, “Can you imagine me being [a] mom [who is] pushing her kids out there? That’s not going to happen.” It’s clear that Drew wants her children to make their own choices and find their own paths, whether they lead back to Hollywood or somewhere entirely different.

Before I left for Asia, I showed Olive where on the globe I was going. And now, at this moment, I came across an article by the great @anthonybourdain LINK IN BIO TO READ because it really moved me. It’s funny how we all arrange our travel. I came here for work, but on the off hours, I live for getting “local” and getting to know what a place is really like without the protection of the familiar. He has great tips and an even better philosophy. Take a moment to read his wisdom and style. It just might change your next life experience. #thailanddiaries

Drew recently took to Instagram again to share her experience filming her latest movie, The Stand-In. In a candid post, she revealed that the film pushed her to confront her “worst fears” but also made her incredibly proud as an actress. “I just finished the hardest film I’ve done since Grey Gardens,” Drew confessed. “And the lesson I told my daughters the whole way through making the film (which they would come and visit often) was that if you want to do your best, you have to work harder than you ever have.”

Drew went on to say that having her daughters around during the filming process motivated her to work harder and show them the importance of dedication and perseverance. “I also never had two girls to win over and impress like my daughters. If I have made them proud and showed them that an infallible work ethic is key, well then I really did my job,” she concluded. It’s clear that Drew is not only a dedicated actress but also a proud and loving mother who wants to set a great example for her kids.
