Barbra Streisand has worn many hats throughout her illustrious career, but there’s a new and incredibly special role she’s stepping into with open arms: being a grandma. In a candid interview with the U.K.'s The Times, the legendary singer and actress opened up about what it means to her to become a grandmother for the first time. Stepson Josh Brolin and his wife, Kathryn Boyd, welcomed their adorable baby girl, Westlyn Reign Brolin, back in November, and Barbra couldn’t be more thrilled.
From Superstar to Grandma: Barbra’s Heart Melts for Westlyn
Barbra, now 76, is absolutely glowing about her new role in life. “Oh my gosh! That, to me, is a real accomplishment, to have this little baby, this live thing in my life,” she said, her excitement practically jumping off the page. Barbra even sports a special bracelet given to her by Josh and Kathryn, engraved with the word "Grandma." It's a constant reminder of the joy that Westlyn brings into her world, and Barbra cherishes it so much that she never takes it off. It’s a small but meaningful symbol of the love she feels for her granddaughter.

Back to Basics: Changing Diapers Again
Barbra isn’t just embracing her role as grandma emotionally; she’s diving headfirst into the practical side of things, too. "I changed a diaper last week," she shared with a laugh. "When I last diapered a baby, my son [Jason Gould, 52], it was cloth diapers with safety pins." Despite the years that have passed since her last hands-on parenting experience, Barbra feels completely comfortable and at ease around Westlyn. It's clear that her love for her granddaughter transcends any generational gap in parenting techniques.
Laughing Like Never Before
Barbra also shared a delightful story about how much Westlyn has already impacted her life. "The other day Josh sent me a video of [Westlyn] laughing. She was being tickled," Barbra recalled with a chuckle. "Well, I started to laugh so hysterically that my husband videoed the back of my head watching the video of the baby." Her laughter was so uncontrollable that it reminded her of her time filming the 1970 movie, The Owl and the Pussycat. Back then, she struggled to laugh in one of the scenes, and the crew had to play her a recording of something funny to get her going. Now, she jokes, "Oh my God, where was Westlyn when I was doing The Owl and the Pussycat?"
