Even the most successful and famous parents worry about their kids, and Simon Cowell is no exception. Despite his massive fame and fortune, Simon shares the same concerns as any parent raising a child in today's world.
What Keeps Simon Up at Night?
Simon Cowell, the 59-year-old entertainment mogul, recently opened up to the Daily Mail about the fears that haunt him as a father. “There are two things that worry me the most about my son growing up,” Simon confessed. “One is stress. Kids today are under so much pressure — with school, homework, and all the expectations placed on them. I don’t want my son to feel that kind of weight on his shoulders.”
But stress isn’t the only concern weighing on Simon’s mind. “The second thing that terrifies me is bullying. Just the thought of my son being bullied makes me sick to my stomach. I don’t think I could handle it if he ever had to go through that,” Simon admitted. It’s clear that Simon’s protective instincts as a father run deep, and he’s determined to shield his child from the harsh realities of the world.

Protecting His Little One
Simon’s protective streak doesn’t stop there. As the father of a 5-year-old son, Eric, whom he shares with his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, Simon is keenly aware of the risks of raising a child in privilege. Despite his wealth, Simon is determined to ensure that Eric grows up with a sense of grounded values. “It’s definitely a challenge, but I want him to have the kind of childhood I had,” Simon explained. “I want him to grow up with the same values I was taught.”
And while Simon acknowledges that Eric is too young to fully grasp the family's financial security, he’s already thinking about how to instill responsibility in his son. “You can’t force things, though. I’ve heard stories about parents who make a big deal about sitting their kids in economy while they stay in first class, just to teach them a lesson. Honestly, I don’t think Eric would care either way, but we enjoy having him around to talk to,” Simon admitted.
