A Surprise Announcement on the Morning Show
It was a typical morning on the Today Show when a surprising interruption turned into an unforgettable moment. Savannah Guthrie couldn’t contain the excitement and decided to jump in during meteorologist Dylan Dreyer’s segment to deliver the big news. “Dylan, I’m so sorry. I’ve never done this to you before. I’m so sorry. I think I have a good popstart story to share with you guys. It’s an exclusive,” Savannah said, barely containing her excitement. “I think you’re going to want to hear this. There’s someone on the phone right now and I think she’s there. Hoda, are you there?”
Hoda responded with a cheerful, “Oh I’m here. Hi, guys!” before pausing briefly and revealing, “Yes I do. It’s a girl!” The entire studio erupted in applause, and viewers at home couldn’t help but feel the warmth of this joyful announcement. Take a look at the heartwarming video below:

The Hard Work—and Joy—of Motherhood
Being a parent is no easy feat, and Hoda has been candid about the challenges of raising a child. Despite the hard work, she wouldn’t trade it for anything. In a previous interview with People magazine, she admitted, “One of the things I’ve always wanted was to be a mom… There was a hole [in my life]. People would say, ‘Oh, do you have kids?’ And I’d feel like, ‘Ouch.’ I knew inside it was supposed to be for me.”

Living the Dream: Hoda’s Reflections on Motherhood
With her family now complete, Hoda feels she’s living the life she always dreamed of. She shared, “I guess if you’ve been waiting this long for something, and you wish for it, pray for it, hope for it, wonder if it will ever be, and then it happens, nothing’s more real.
